REGIONAL AND REPRESENTATIVE OFFICES REGISTRATION

If an overseas company would like to open a regional office or a representative office here in Thailand, we can help client prepare the paperwork and complete the registration with the relevant authority in Thailand. A regional office and a representative office are other forms of business organization which are not separate legal entities from their company. Both regional office and representative office are not allowed to generate any income in Thailand.

Activities of a regional office are limited to the following:


Communicating, coordinating and directing, on
behalf of the head office, the operation of branches and affiliates that are located in the region

Providing services in consulting and management

Training and personnel development

Financial management

Marketing control and sales promotion planning

Product development

Services in research and development

In order to set up a regional office in Thailand, a foreign company must have at least one other branch or affiliate company in Asia.

Activities of a representative office are limited to the following:


Sourcing goods or services in Thailand for the head office

Checking and controlling the quality and quantity of goods purchased or hired to be manufactured in Thailand by the head office

Giving advice pertaining to goods of the head office sold to agents or consumers

Propagation of information pertaining to new goods or services of the head office

Reporting on business trends in Thailand to the head office
